Golf Finishes 4th in Second Match

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre golf team finished fifth in their second match of the 2014 season. Seven teams competed in the Penn State DuBois Invitational, with Wilkes-Barre shooting a 393. The Mountain Lions were led by Jeff Carter, with a score of 83. The team will travel to a match hosted by Penn State Schuylkill on Friday, September 19.

Soccer Falls at PSU Brandywine

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre soccer team played its first road game of the season on Friday night, losing 9-1 at PSU Brandywine. Eric Whited scored the lone goal for WB. The Mountain Lions (0-1 PSUAC, 0-2 overall) will next travel to Penn State Worthington Scranton on Wednesday to face its northeast PA rival. The game will be played at Marywood University on September 10th at 4pm.

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre golf team finished fourth on their first match of the 2014 season. Seven teams competed in the match, with Wilkes-Barre shooting a score of 374. The Mountain Lions were led by Jeff Carter (80), Mike Carey (93), and Joe Murray (97). The team will next travel to a match hosted by Penn State DuBois on Monday, September 8th at 11am.

Soccer Falls in Season Opener

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre Soccer team opened their 2014 season at home against Davis College on September 3rd.  Wilkes-Barre was defeated 4-1, with Wilkes-Barre's lone goal being scored by Mark Bugelholl. Wilkes-Barre plays their next game this Friday, 4pm at Penn State Brandywine.  

New Faculty & Staff Welcomed To Campus

Chancellor Charles Davis is pleased to announce the addition of new faculty & staff members to Penn State Wilkes-Barre for the 2014-2015 academic year. After four years at the Penn State Wilkes-Barre campus in the Information Technology Services department, Jeff Chiampi has accepted the position of Instructor in Computer Science.  Jeff has a Bachelor of Science in Information, Sciences & Technology and a Master of Business Administration, both from Penn State.

Campus Named 2014-2015 Tuition Hero

Penn State Wilkes-Barre was recently recognized by Tuition Heroes, a St. Louis, MO based company, with the designation of Tuition Hero for a 3 Year Compound Annual Growth Rate of 1.6%. The Tuition Hero designation is given to institutions that meet at least one of two criteria: their tuition has a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 2.5% or less or they have a fixed rate tuition policy option.

Engineers Plan Satellite Launch

Backscratchers, automobile parts, running shoes, and prosthetics. Since their introduction in the 1980's, 3 dimensional printers and printing have come a long way with miles to go in the future. For the next two years, a group of electrical engineering technology (EET) students at Penn State Wilkes-Barre will be testing a new 3D printer boundary when they print and launch a satellite into space.

Bell Center For Technology Summer Updates Completed

The Bell Center for Technology had a busy summer, receiving all new furniture in the lobby and student seating areas as well as a complete renovation of one of its prominent classrooms. The student seating upgrades include new tables and chairs outside the Fortinsky Auditorium along with three pieces of lounge furniture and a table with electrical outlets for laptops. Downstairs, several tables, chairs and couches were replaced outside the T-14 classroom.
