Penn State Wilkes-Barre Athletics Requests 2015 Wall of Fame Nominations

Penn State Wilkes-Barre's Athletic Department has set a March 1st, 2015 deadline for nominations for the Athletics Wall of Fame. Supported by the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Alumni Constituent Society, the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Wall of Fame was established to recognize outstanding athletic and academic achievements of its student athletes, as well as contributions by its coaches, administration, and teams.

PSU W-B Volleyball Wins Big Against Schuylkill but Drops to Brandywine

Penn State Wilkes-Barre volleyball fell to PSU Brandywine at Media, 3 sets to 0. Brittany Acevedo led the team in kills with 4, and Jacqueline Rabender led the team with 7 assists. The Lady Lions went on to win their match against PSU Schuylkill, 3 sets to 0. Kahli Kotulski led the team with 13 kills, Brittany Acevedo ended the game with 8 kills and 7 digs, while Jacqueline Rabender ended with 21 assists. The Lady Lions (3-10) play Penn State DuBois at home on October 8th at 7 pm.

Penn State Wilkes-Barre Volleyball Falls to Penn State Mont Alto and York

 PSU Wilkes-Barre volleyball lost two matches to Penn State Mont Alto away, both 3 sets to 0. In game one Brittany Acevedo led the team with 4 kills, while Kahli Kotulski and Shauntel Williams each had 6 digs. The team also fell to Penn State York, 3 sets to 0. The Lady Lions (2-8) next play at Penn State Brandywine, Media, PA at noon on October 5th.  

Wychock Wins LCCC Invitational Women's Race

Becky Wychock finished 1st (21:00) in women's race at the LCCC Invitational on Saturday. Ashley Oliver (22:22) finished 3rd overall. Wychock and Oliver both earned honors for finishing in the top 12 in the 5k race. In the men's race at the LCCC Invitational, Kyle Borland finished 2nd overall (30:15), while David Yunkunis finished 4th (32:23) and Tyler Shelly 7th (32:53). Borland, Yunkunis, and Shelly earned honors for finishing in the top 12 in the 8k race. The men's team finished 2nd overall out of 6 teams.

Wilkes-Barre Loses to Lehigh Valley

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre volleyball team lost their match against Penn State Lehigh Valley 3 sets to 1 on October 2nd. The Lady Lions play again at Penn State Mont Alto on October 4th at 12pm.

Soccer Loses Close One to Valley Forge Christian College

Penn State Wilkes-Barre soccer lost a close one away to Valley Forge Christian College, 5-4. Ryan Patrick had a great game, scoring all 4 goals for PSU Wilkes-Barre. The Mountain Lions (1-4-1 conference, 1-7-1 overall) play away at Penn State Beaver on Saturday, October 11th at 2:00 pm.

Volleyball Loses to New Kensington and Fayette

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre women's volleyball team lost to Penn State New Kensington 3-0 (25-14, 25-20, 25-23) in a quad match September 28th at home. Kahli Kotuski led the team with 12 kills and 5 digs. The team also lost their second match of the quad against Penn State Fayette 3-0 (25-14, 25-4, 25-12). The Lady Lions next play Penn State Hazleton at home, September 30th at 6pm. 

Volleyball Falls to Penn State Beaver and Greater Allegheny

Penn State Wilkes-Barre lost 3-0 to PSU Beaver on Saturday during a Quad match at home (13-25, 16-25, 21-25). Kahli Kotulski led the team with 9 kills and 2 digs, while Brittany Acevedo had 8 service aces for the match. The team also fell to Penn State Greater Allegheny, losing 3 sets to 0 (14-25, 23-25, 11-25). Kahli Kotulski led the team with 4 kills and 5 digs, with Jacqueline Rabender having 3 service aces for the match. PSU Wilkes Barre's next game will be at Penn State Worthington Scranton, September 28th at 12pm.

Penn State Wilkes-Barre Soccer Loses to Penn State York

The PSU Wilkes-Barre soccer team lost to Penn State York 5-1 at York. Ryan Patrick scored the only goal for PSU Wilkes-Barre on a breakaway. The Mountain Lions (1-4-1 conference, 1-6-1 overall) play Valley Forge Christian College away at Valley Forge on September 29th at noon.
