Student Affairs

Student Affairs supports student development, both personal and professional; creates out-of-classroom educational opportunities; and contributes to a safe and inclusive campus community. Student Affairs consists of Student Activities, Athletics, Health and Wellness, Student Outreach, and Student Policies.

Student Activities

Being a student at Penn State Wilkes-Barre is more than just taking classes; it also includes getting involved in both co- and extra-curricular learning opportunities. Being involved in activities on campus will not only give you the opportunity to meet new people and form life-long friendships, but you will enhance your Penn State experience by learning how to be a team player, sharpening your communication skills, developing networking skills, and just having fun!

Athletics

The Athletic and Recreation Building (ARB) and its surrounding fields and courts offer a wide range of fitness options to our students, including specialized equipment and intramurals.

Housing and Food Services

Although Penn State Wilkes-Barre does not have on-campus University-owned housing, there are a wide range of private rental units available where students can live while attending our campus.

Whether an off-campus resident or a commuter, you can dine at the Hickory Court Café located in the Student Commons. You can pay with cash, or use LionCash to get a 10% discount on all prepared foods.

Student Services

As a student at Penn State Wilkes‑Barre, you have a wide range of student services and programs available to support you in your efforts to achieve your educational, career, and personal goals. The following offices are here to help you during your time at Penn State Wilkes‑Barre.

Police & Public Safety

The department of Police & Public Safety provides all law enforcement and security services to the Wilkes-Barre campus. Police & Public Safety is also responsible for parking enforcement and traffic control.

Police and Public Safety maintains a cooperative relationship with the Lehman Township Police and the Pennsylvania State Police. Criminal incidents are investigated by campus officers. Assistance in investigations may be requested from the Pennsylvania State Police or the Lehman Township Police for serious criminal incidents.
