Women's Basketball Loses to Stevens Tech

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre women's basketball team lost at home to Stevens Institute of Technology by a score of 48-32 on Wednesday night. This was Wilkes-Barre's third consecutive game against an NCAA Division III opponent. Wilkes-Barre's overall record moved to 2-3.  Freshman Kian Wright ended the night with thirteen points, four rebounds and three steals.  Penn State Wilkes-Barre will next travel to Misericordia University on Friday for a 7:00 pm game.

Women's Basketball Win at NCAA Division III Baptist Bible

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre women's basketball team beat Baptist Bible by the score of 46-42 on Tuesday night. Wilkes-Barre's overall record improves to 2-3 on the season. This was a huge win for the Lady Mountain Lions, as they defeated a NCAA Division III program. Freshman Breana Moore ended the night with twenty points, six rebounds, and four steals, while junior Tiaira Brathwaite added ten points, seven rebounds, and four assists. Penn State Wilkes-Barre will next host Stevens Tech on Wednesday night at 6:00 PM.

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre women's basketball team lost to College of St. Elizabeth by a score of 56-79 in the consolation game of the Lady Cyclone Tip-Off Tournament. Wilkes-Barre's record moved to 1-3 overall. Freshman Brenna Moore finished the night with twenty points, five rebounds, and four steals, earning her All-Tournament honors. Freshman Kian Wright added twelve points, twelve rebounds, and three steals. Penn State Wilkes-Barre will next host Stevens Tech on Wednesday, November 20th at 6:00 pm.

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre women's basketball team lost to Centenary College by a score of 49-60 in the first round of the Lady Cyclone Tip-Off Tournament. Wilkes-Barre's overall record moved to 1-2. The Lady Mountain Lions kept it close for most of the game against the NCAA Division III opponent. 2013 Scholarship Dinner Held

On Wednesday, October 16th, Penn State Wilkes-Barre honored over 135 students and donors at the annual Scholarship Dinner held at Appletree Terrace. This year, Penn State Wilkes-Barre awarded more than 260 students approximately $606,000 in scholarships. Students were given the opportunity to mingle with their donors during dinner, and they were able to personally thank them.

Wilkes-Barre Improves to 3-0 by Defeating SUNY-ESF

Carey Earns All-American Honors at USCAAs

Freshman Jason Carey finished third overall to earn USCAA All-American honors at the USCAA Cross Country National Championships. In the women's race, sophomore Emily Pszeneczny finished 43rd overall with a time of 27:28, while freshman Azalee McAlpine finished 102nd overall with a time of 31:08. 145 total runners competed in the women's 6K race. In the men's race, Carey finished third overall in the 8K race with a time of 27:45. The men's team finished eighth overall out of 19 total teams.

Wilkes-Barre Men's Basketball Beats LCCC

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre men's basketball team traveled to Luzerne County Community College on Thursday evening, defeating LCCC 80-60 and moving their record to 2-0 overall. Senior Denzel Mensah had seventeen points, eight rebounds, and two steals. Freshman Emmanuel Young had a strong game, bringing down eleven rebounds; junior Kenneth Randall added twelve. The Mountain Lions will next host SUNY-ESF on Sunday at 1:00 pm.
