In light of the recent change in federal policy on the rights of transgender students to use facilities corresponding with their gender identity, Penn State reaffirmed its commitment to nondiscrimination today (March 1). The University’s long-standing policies protecting the rights of individuals and prohibiting gender-based discrimination have not changed.

Penn State Wilkes-Barre will host the 2017 Pennsylvania Northeast Regional Science Olympiad competition on March 8. Science Olympiad objectives are to bring science to life, to expose students to real-life challenges, to make science education more exciting and fun, and to attract more students to careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) and science education/teaching.
