The Penn State Wilkes-Barre athletic department has named junior Abby Collins (women's volleyball) to the Student-Athlete Advisory Board. Collins joins Alex Leandri (women's cross country), Keith Moran (men's soccer), and Frank Peters (men's basketball) on the board. They will be tasked with finding initiatives to increase student, faculty, and staff participation at athletic events and enhancing the perception of athletics on campus.

Members of the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Honor Society have completed their second drive for troops serving overseas.
The local honor students recently delivered nearly a thousand pounds of goods ranging from personal grooming products to microwave popcorn, instant hot chocolate, powdered drinks, stationery and envelopes and other items to Give2TheTroops in Fairfield, Connecticut. The most recent delivery was assisted by a collection drive at the Lake Lehman Elementary School under the direction of Mrs. Doreen Johnson.

Down 13-16 at half time, Wilkes-Barre battled back to take a 45-41 victory over Hazleton. Sophomore Tiaira Braithwaite led Wilkes-Barre with 15 points and 12 rebounds.
