Summer camps announced at Penn State Wilkes-Barre

DALLAS, Pa. — Penn State Wilkes-Barre is offering numerous camps this summer for children and youth through its Office of Continuing Education.

Two weeks of camp are offered, with Week 1 scheduled for June 24 to 28 and Week 2 set for July 8 to 12. All campers will receive a special Penn State Wilkes-Barre camp souvenir.

Several of the camps are new this year, including Exploring Agriculture, Self Defense for Kids+, Soccer, WISE (Women in Sciences and Engineering): Explore the World of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Meet the Mediums: Drawing & Art, and Stepping into Color: An Introduction to Watercolors.

Camp scholarships, based on financial need, are available in limited quantities on a first-come, first-served basis. Week 1 (June 24-28)

Entering grades 2-4

  • Musical Theatre — Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka Jr.! (9 a.m. - noon), $169
  • Camp runs for the full day on June 28 for the 1:30 p.m. performance.

Entering grades 4-6

  • Self-Defense for Kids+ (12:30 - 3:30 p.m.), $169

Entering grades 4-8

  • Soccer co-ed (9 a.m. – noon), $119

A 10% early bird discount will be given for registrations prior to April 14, excluding soccer camp, WISE camp and Teen Entrepreneurial Challenge.

Registrants will receive a confirmation email prior to camp containing details about dropoff, pickup, pre-screening and safety protocols.
