DUNMORE, Pa. — Lackawanna College students who graduate with their associate degree now have direct transfer options to three regional Penn State campuses thanks to an articulation agreement the institutions announced on Thursday, Aug. 10, at Penn State Worthington Scranton (PSWS) in Dunmore.
“Providing excellent academic foundations and opportunities for our graduates to transfer to top-notch institutions is among our most important responsibilities,” Lackawanna College President Mark Volk said. “We are thrilled to add Penn State’s regional campuses to that list and look forward to expanding the benefits of this articulation to Lackawanna College students.”
“This new partnership between our northeast Penn State campuses and Lackawanna College will benefit students and both of our institutions,” said PSWS Chancellor Marwan Wafa. “Lackawanna students will be able to complete their degrees by seamlessly transferring all of their earned credits, while Penn State will be accepting students who are academically prepared, which will help increase degree completion rates at both of our institutions.”
Based on students' proximity to Lackawanna College’s locations in Hawley, Hazleton, New Milford, Scranton, Sunbury and Towanda, the transfer agreement will create direct paths for students to earn their bachelor’s degrees at the Penn State Hazleton, Wilkes-Barre and Worthington Scranton campuses.
Lackawanna students can apply for transfer into four-year degree programs in administration of justice; business; human development and family studies; letters, arts, and sciences; rehabilitation and human services; or psychology.
Students pursuing this agreement that are interested in other majors will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
