The 2018 Penn State Day at Knoebels Amusement Park featured the Nittany Lion, fun and a generous community spirit. This year the day took on a giving component, as participants were encouraged to help the northeastern Pennsylvania Penn State alumni societies and chapters honor the region’s veterans.

The Penn State Hazleton, Schuylkill, Wilkes-Barre, and Scranton alumni societies, along with the Greater Binghamton, Greater Hazleton, Greater Scranton, Greater Susquehanna Valley, and Schuylkill alumni chapters, collected gift cards, blankets and clothing items to assist veterans in need at the Wilkes-Barre VA.

Grant awarded to support degree goals for low-income Penn State student parents

Penn State has been awarded an $824,768 CCAMPIS (Child Care Access Means Parents in School) grant from the U.S. Department of Education to provide financial assistance for child care to qualifying low-income undergraduate and graduate student parents at University Park and 20 additional campus locations.

Penn State’s NSF I-Corps program seeks applications by Sept. 15 and Oct. 15

The National Science Foundation has joined in supporting Penn State’s goal of taking more of its discoveries to market by awarding Penn State a five-year, $500,000 Innovation Corps (I-Corps) grant to establish the Invent Penn State I-Corps Site in collaboration with Ben Franklin Technology Partner’s TechCelerator, Happy Valley LaunchBox, and Invent Penn State’s Innovation Hubs.

'FaceAge' Pennsylvania tour kicks off Aug. 30

Andrew Belser, 2017-18 Penn State laureate, will kick off the tour of his award-winning “FaceAge” exhibition, a multimedia video installation created from cross-generational conversations, Aug. 30 to Sept. 5 at University Park. Throughout the 2017-18 academic year, Belser will take “FaceAge” to all Penn State campuses.
