Entrepreneurs, including teens, are invited to take part in Penn State Wilkes-Barre LaunchBox’s upcoming presentations as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week from Nov. 13-19.
Every November, Invent Penn State holds a week of activities aimed at helping entrepreneurs across the commonwealth with their business ideas and goals. The events are free and open to the public. “Global Entrepreneurial Explorations,” which will be held on Nov. 16, from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m., is for those who are considering starting a business abroad.
During this session, international business students will present an overview of three different global cultures. Attendees will have the opportunity to select which area of the globe they would consider starting a business in to learn more. Registration is not required for this event, which will be held in Room 108 of Hayfield House. It will also be livestreamed. To receive the Zoom link, contact Stephanie Gresh, assistant teaching professor of business and coordinator of the Penn State Wilkes-Barre LaunchBox, at [email protected].
Also planned that week is the tecBRIDGE Youth Entrepreneurship Conference (YEC), which will be held at King’s College on Nov. 17 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The conference is a creative half-day program designed for those interested in learning more about entrepreneurship and innovation. The event is designed to complement traditional classroom topics with real-world reality and is designed for high school and college students, aspiring entrepreneurs, teachers, mentors and continuous learners.
The YEC features professors, subject matter experts and successful entrepreneurs from the region for keynote presentations, breakout sessions and panel discussions. Topics include “Artificial Intelligence and Entrepreneurship,” “Storytelling,” “Let’s Talk Pricing” and “Social Media Do’s and Dont’s.”
Registration is required for the conference through this link.
“Global Entrepreneurial Explorations” and the tecBRIDGE Youth Entrepreneurship Conference are presented by the Wilkes-Barre LaunchBox powered by Penn State. In addition to the local events, virtual events will be offered across the commonwealth through other Invent Penn State locations.
