The Penn State Wilkes-Barre golf team put out a great showing on Monday and Tuesday at the PSUAC/USCAA Championships at University Park, PA. The team was highlighted by Jeff Carter, who finished 2nd overall in the PSUAC with an 81 on day one and 86 on day two. By finishing second, Carter earned PSUAC First Team All-Conference honors. His scores were good enough to tie for 27th overall within the USCAA. All four of the golfers who participated in the championships played very well and shot under 100 for both days of the tournament.
Penn State Wilkes-Barre soccer lost to PSU Beaver, 5-1. Thomas Blasi scored the only goal for Wilkes-Barre, assisted by Eric Whited. The Mountain Lions (1-5-1 conference, 1-8-1 overall) next play Penn State Schuylkill at home on Friday, October 17th at 2:00 pm.
The Penn State Wilkes-Barre men's and women's cross-country teams competed at the PSUAC Championships on Saturday afternoon at University Park, PA. Four runners earned PSUAC All-Conference honors.
In the men's 8k race, freshman Kyle Borland came in 3rd place with a time of 31:39, earning PSUAC All-Conference honors. Senior Tyler Shelly finished 6th overall with a time of 33:14, also earning All-Conference honors. Freshman Joseph Borland finished in the top 20, ending up 18th.
Penn State Wilkes-Barre volleyball won both matches against Penn State Worthington Scranton. In the first match, which Wilkes-Barre won 3 sets to 2, Kahli Kotulski had 18 kills and 9 digs, Brittany Acevedo had 10 kills with 6 digs and Jacqueline Rabender came up big with 26 assists and 6 server aces. In the second match The Lady Lions won 3 sets to 0. Shatunel Williams led the team with 7 kills and 4 digs; Kahli Kotulski also had 6 kills. This was the last game of the season for the Lady Lions, who ended with a record of 6-10.
PSU Wilkes-Barre volleyball beat Penn State DuBois at DuBois, 3 sets to 0. Kahli Kotulski led the team with 16 kills and 10 digs, while Jordan Chiavarri had 28 assists. The Lady Lions play their next match at Penn State Worthington Scranton in a double match on October 10th at 4:00 pm.
Penn State Wilkes-Barre's Athletic Department has set a March 1st, 2015 deadline for nominations for the Athletics Wall of Fame. Supported by the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Alumni Constituent Society, the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Wall of Fame was established to recognize outstanding athletic and academic achievements of its student athletes, as well as contributions by its coaches, administration, and teams.
Penn State Wilkes-Barre volleyball fell to PSU Brandywine at Media, 3 sets to 0. Brittany Acevedo led the team in kills with 4, and Jacqueline Rabender led the team with 7 assists. The Lady Lions went on to win their match against PSU Schuylkill, 3 sets to 0. Kahli Kotulski led the team with 13 kills, Brittany Acevedo ended the game with 8 kills and 7 digs, while Jacqueline Rabender ended with 21 assists. The Lady Lions (3-10) play Penn State DuBois at home on October 8th at 7 pm.

In game one Brittany Acevedo led the team with 4 kills, while Kahli Kotulski and Shauntel Williams each had 6 digs. The team also fell to Penn State York, 3 sets to 0. The Lady Lions (2-8) next play at Penn State Brandywine, Media, PA at noon on October 5th.
