Continuing Education Offers Computational Methods in Stormwater Management

On Thursday, August 6, 2015 and Friday, August 7, 2015, Penn State Wilkes-Barre Continuing Education will offer a course in Computational Methods in Stormwater Management. The two-day course will run from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. each day and has an early bird (June 2, 2015) registration fee of $950.00 per person. After June 2, the full registration fee is $999.00 per person-deadline to register is July 3, 2015. Registration fee after July 3, 2015 is $1,049.00 (if space permits).

WISE Program Enters Sixth Year

Penn State Wilkes-Barre Continuing Education is currently accepting registrations for its sixth Women in the Sciences and Engineering program (WISE) running August 4th - 6th. Funded by Procter and Gamble's Live, Learn, and Thrive grant that is offering 12 young women a chance into the program at no cost on a first come, first served basis. Students are asked to request a teacher's recommendation for entry into the program. 

Students Honored At Leadership Award Ceremony

Dr. Charles Davis, Penn State Wilkes-Barre Chancellor, and the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Student Government Association are pleased to announce the 2014-2015 student recipients of The John R. Murphy Award for Excellence in Leadership & Service, The Martin U. Dougherty Emerging Leader Award, The Eric A. & Josephine S. Walker Award, and the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Who's Who in American Colleges & Universities.

Engineering Grant Awardees Announced

Chancellor Charles Davis and Director of Academic Affairs Dr. Albert Lozano-Nieto are pleased to announce the awarding of two Research Grants from the Engineering Technology and Commonwealth Engineering division in the Penn State College of Engineering to Instructor in Computer Science, Jeff Chiampi and Instructor in Engineering, Tim Sichler.

First Annual Undergraduate Research Day Held

On Wednesday, April 29, 2015, Penn State Wilkes-Barre hosted its first Undergraduate Research Day. The event, which was co-sponsored and supported by the Wilkes-Barre campus and the Penn State University Libraries, consisted of 61 posters created by 107 students, highlighting their research this semester.
