The Penn State Wilkes-Barre men's basketball team lost their home game against Penn State York 69-66 on Friday evening. With the loss, the team falls to 12-10 overall and 9-4 in the PSUAC. The game Friday night pinned the top two seeds against each other. The Mountain Lions were led by Denzel Menzah's 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. AJ Jones contributed 15 points and 7 rebounds to the contest.

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre men's basketball team won their home game against Penn State Greater Allegheny 94-68 on Friday night. The team improved to 10-9 overall and 7-3 in the PSUAC. The Mountain Lions started and ended the game strong. The team never trailed in the game, which isn't uncommon for them since they have not trailed going into half-time since they played King's College.

Women's Basketball Falls to Penn State Greater Allegheny

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre women's basketball team lost their home game against Penn State Greater Allegheny 71-53 on Friday night. The team dropped to 5-10 overall and 2-7 in the PSUAC. The Lady Lions were led by Breana Moore's 22 points and 5 rebounds. Jacqueline Rabender and Sierra Eskridge both contributed 10 rebounds each, and both players were a couple of points short of double-doubles.

Men's Basketball Defeats Penn State Worthington Scranton

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre men's basketball team won their home game vs. Penn State Worthington Scranton 78-70 on Friday night. After trailing 5-0 in the first minute of the first half, Wilkes-Barre never stopped scoring; in fact they didn't trail for the rest of the game. Wilkes-Barre was led in scoring by Austin Walker's 20 points. Anthony Kaiser also contributed to the win with his numerous 3 pointers, which always seemed to energize the team.

Women's Basketball Falls to Penn State Worthington Scranton

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre women's basketball team lost their home game to Penn State Worthington Scranton 57-51 on Friday night. The team started off strong, leading the entire first half and a majority of the second half. However, Scranton moved ahead with seven minutes left to play. Wilkes-Barre came roaring back with less than 50 seconds left in the second half when Katelyn McLaughlin shot a go-ahead three. Scranton then tied it up to push it into overtime.

Director of Athletics Stanchak Announces Departure From Penn State Wilke-Barre

Director of Athletics and Recreation, Brian D. Stanchak, has announced that he will be leaving Penn State University, Wilkes-Barre at the end of February of this year. His resignation will be effective February 28th. The athletic department and programs have achieved a high level of growth and success on the court/field and within the classroom during his four years leading the department. Following his departure, Stanchak will focus on his multi-divisional company, BDS Search, LLC, which includes a successful basketball coach management and marketing agency.
