Freshman Alex Leandri finished 27th out of 110 at the USCAA Championships this past Friday in Lake Placid, NY. Leandri had a tremendous season, winning all four of her PSUAC races, including the PSUAC Individual Women's Cross Country Championship. "Alex was great to coach this season. She worked hard and had such a positive attitude. I look forward to coaching her next season and helping her reach her goal of being named USCAA All-American," said Head Coach Brian Stanchak.
The Penn State Wilkes-Barre Men's Basketball team won their home opener 75-58 over Johnson College (0-1) to begin the season 1-0. Wilkes-Barre was led by Sophomore Keith Johnson who had 13 points. Senior Matt Clemons added 12 for the Mountain Lions. Wilkes-Barre forced Johnson to turn the ball over 22 times in the 40 minutes. Wilkes-Barre's next game is at home next Tuesday at 8:00 pm vs. Lycoming.
Freshman Mark Bugelholl was named to the PSUAC All-Conference Soccer team today. Bugelholl led Wilkes-Barre this season with six goals and one assist. The team finished the season on a three-game winning streak.
Penn State Wilkes-Barre soccer player Nicolas Velez has been named to the USCAA Academic All-American Team. This team consists of all USCAA student-athletes who have achieved over a 3.50 GPA. Congratulations to Nicolas!

Penn State Wilkes-Barre freshman Alex Leandri (Mechanicsburg, PA) won the PSUAC women's cross country individual championship on Saturday at Penn State Fayette. Leandri finished with a time of 23:15 in the very tough 5k race. This was the first PSUAC cross-country title in Penn State Wilkes-Barre history. Leandri swept the conference this year, winning all four of her PSUAC races. Leandri will next compete for a USCAA National Championship on November 11th in Lake Placid, NY.
