Penn State Wilkes-Barre Student Government Association held its annual Leadership and Athletics Awards Ceremony on April 25 at the Irem Clubhouse Ballroom, presenting campus awards and honoring outstanding student leaders and student-athletes at the campus.
Members of two campus organizations joined together for a campus cleanup as part of an overall University event in April. Student-athletes from Penn State Wilkes-Barre’s golf team, along with members of the campus Surveying Society, took part in the cleanup as part of the fourth annual Penn State University Athletic Conference Volunteer Week, which ran from April 1-12.

Penn State Wilkes-Barre has appointed Joe Domino as its new head soccer coach for the 2024 season. A native of upstate New York, Domino has more than 25 years of experience coaching girls junior varsity and boys varsity soccer at Ichabod Crane Central School District in New York.
Penn State Wilkes-Barre has appointed a head baseball coach for the 2023-24 season — and he is no stranger to the campus. A former student-athlete at Penn State Wilkes-Barre, Jason McManus coached the baseball team from winter 2013 to spring 2016 and brings more than 18 years of experience to the Mountain Lions as returning head coach.
Penn State Wilkes-Barre took home the title in the USCAA (United States Collegiate Athletic Association) Division II National Championship with a win over Miami-Hamilton. It marked the second time Head Coach LeShawn Hammett has led the team to a USCAA national win.
