LEHMAN, Pa. — Beginning in September and running through November, Penn State Wilkes-Barre’s Continuing Education Northern Tier Center will offer three strategic business communication skills workshops: When You Become The News, Persuasive Speaking & Writing, and Persuasive Speaking To Lock Your Sale. Workshops will be one day each, running from 9 a.m. to noon. The cost of each workshop is $125 per person.
When You Become The News, set for Sept. 14, is aimed at refining one's skills in responding to the media in normal and crisis situations. Do you know how to control your company’s response time to inquiries? Individuals who work for nonprofit organizations, for-profit businesses, educational facilities, and hospitals and nursing homes will find this offering valuable as they seek to build better relationships with the media.
Persuasive Speaking & Writing, set for Oct. 12, is geared for sales and marketing representatives, product writers and corporate communications specialists alike. So much of an organization’s bottom line is geared to closing the sale, but are you using all the tools available to you?
Persuasive Speaking to Lock Your Sale, set for Nov. 9, is a follow-up course to Persuasive Speaking and Writing, offering tips, tricks and techniques for engaging your audience, carrying them through the presentation to your call to action, and securing that “Yes” to the sale. Each participant will complete a brief three- to five-minute presentation to the rest of the class.
