Wilkes-Barre Volleyball Split Quad Meet at Penn State Hazleton

Penn State Wilkes-Barre's Women's Volleyball team played Penn College and Penn State Worthington Scranton on Saturday, September 17th in a quad match that was held at Penn State Hazleton.  It was an intense game between Penn State Wilkes-Barre and Penn College.  They had to do all 5 matches in a best out of 5 situation.  Penn College ended up winning the first two matches 25-22 and 25-22, but Penn State Wilkes-Barre fought back and won the next two matches 26-24 and 25-20.  In the final match Penn College won 15-8.   Penn State Wilkes-Barre's Kellie Yekel (former GAR HS player) had 19 kills and 12 digs.  Meghan Murtagh (former Dallas HS player) had 21 assists.  Tiffany Denny-Rochester (former Massaponax HS player) added 14 service points and 6 blocks for Penn State Wilkes-Barre.

Penn State Wilkes-Barre then defeated Penn State Worthington Scranton 3-0.  The scores were 25-16, 25-17, and 25-12.  Abigail Collins ( former Wyoming Valley West HS player) led Penn State Wilkes-Barre with 9 service points, 5 aces, and 8 kills.  Jessica Ozmina (former Hanover Area HS player) added 9 service points and 13 assists.

Penn State Wilkes-Barre's next game will be at Penn State DuBois on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 7:00 p.m.
