Chancellor Dr. Charles Davis is pleased to announce the addition of two new faculty members, two new staff members, and a new appointment at Penn State Wilkes-Barre for the 2011-2012 academic year.
George Coroian, an assistant professor of administration of justice, is a former law enforcement officer, in the public and private sectors, as well as a licensed attorney. A graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. and Ph. D. in criminology as well as a J. D. from Ohio Northern University, George has served as a law clerk for administrative law judges in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Anson Carter, a mathematics instructor, is a graduate of Lehigh University with a B.S. in mechanical engineering. He also holds two masters' degrees, a Master of Arts in mathematics from Villanova University and a Master of Science in applied mathematics from the University of Delaware. Prior to joining the Wilkes-Barre campus, Anson was a mathematics instructor at the Penn State Hazelton campus.
Mike Aed, the first part-time athletic trainer in Penn State Wilkes-Barre's athletic history, is no stranger to collegiate sports having served as the head athletic trainer at Marywood University for seven years as well as Wilkes University for sixteen years prior. Mike will be covering all practices and games, work with student athletes to prevent injuries from happening, as well as rehabilitate injured student athletes.
Rachel Olszewski, marketing communication specialist, is a graduate of the University of Dayton with a B.A. in communication with a focus on public relations and a double minor in English and political science. She also holds a certification for event planning from Clark State College. For the past three years, Rachel has worked for Qdoba Restaurant Corporation marketing department in the Chicago and Cincinnati markets.
Albert Lozano-Nieto, while not a new face to campus, is on loan for a year in a new appointment as Interim Director of Academic Affairs. Albert has been at Penn State Wilkes-Barre for 15 years as a professor of engineering, teaching in the biomedical engineering technology program. Born and raised in Barcelona, Spain, Albert received his academic degrees from Polytechnic University of Catalonia.
