Penn State Wilkes-Barre Instructor Honored By Academy of Business Research

The Academy of Business Research honored Penn State Wilkes-Barre Instructor of Business, John Weber, at their 2011 Winter International Conference with a Best Paper Award in the category of real estate and finance.

Weber's paper, "The Impact of Perceptions on the Fallout of Increasing Real Estate Values in Montgomery County: An Integrative Case Study," is the first 3 chapters of his doctoral dissertation proposal for Capella University where he is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in General Business. The paper has been approved by the Ph.D. committee but is currently still waiting on Capella's business department approval.

"For the case study, I am replicating a previously conducted study in Philadelphia County in 2008," explains Weber. "I am applying the questions to Montgomery County with a different survey population."

Weber, an Instructor in Business at Penn State Wilkes-Barre since 2001, holds a B.A. from Temple University in Communications and an M.B.A. from LaSalle University in Finance. Weber is currently the Program Chair for the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Business department.
