Baseball Splits Double-Header With Penn State Fayette

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre men's baseball team took one of two games in a double header against PSUAC rival Penn State Fayette on Monday afternoon. In the first game, Wilkes-Barre fought hard to take a 5-4 victory in 8 innings. Senior Peter Kelly, sophomore Kyle LeValley, and freshmen Ryan Goodwin and Robert Vollmer each had RBIs for Wilkes-Barre. Pitching the last two innings for Wilkes-Barre, Goodwin (1-0) took the win. In the second game, Wilkes-Barre fell just short of a win, losing 5-7.  For Wilkes-Barre, LeValley had 2 RBIs, while Kelly, Vollmer and freshman Zach Yursha each batted in one run. Pitcher freshman Kyle Colarusso (0-1) took the loss for Wilkes-Barre. By splitting the double-header, Wilkes-Barre is now 1-6 overall and 1-3 in the PSUAC. Wilkes-Barre will next play at home in a conference double-header against Penn State York on Thursday, March 29th starting at 2:00 pm.
