Congratulations to Spring 2012 Athletic Department Interns, Karen Sickler and Chase Thomson, on landing their first full-time positions in college athletics.
Karen Sickler was named at Athletic Operations Assistant at Texas A&M-International University (Laredo, TX). "Working as an Athletic Department Intern at Penn State-Wilkes-Barre was great! Under the supervision of Brian D. Stanchak, Director of Athletics, I developed valuable skills and gained hands-on experience working within intercollegiate athletics. The time I spent at Penn State Wilkes-Barre successfully prepared me to continue my work experience in athletic administration."
Chase Thomson will be serving as Assistant Sports Information Director at SUNY-Potsdam (Potsdam, NY). Chase said about his experience as an Intern in the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Athletic Department, "My internship at Penn State Wilkes-Barre allowed me to grow as an individual through several culminating experiences. These experiences in the areas sport marketing, sports information, and athletic administration molded me into an asset to any Athletic Department in my pursuit of a career in the sports field."
