Wilkes-Barre Soccer Falls to New Kensington

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre (1-4) soccer team came up short in their Saturday afternoon game against Penn State New Kensington by a score of 2-1. Penn State New Kensington struck first, scoring nine minutes into the game. About one minute later freshman David Cavalieri kept up his recent scoring rampage with a goal on a ball from sophomore Mark Bugelholl. In the second half, New Kensington got another goal during the 51st minute to end all scoring for the game. Even though Wilkes-Barre outshot New Kensington 28-20 for the game, they still came up with the loss. Wilkes-Barre also had an 8-7 advantage on corner kicks. Junior Anthony Aquilina started the game and had seven saves in goal while freshman Chris Jaworski played the whole second half stopping six shots. Wilkes-Barre will be back in action Tuesday night when they travel to Penn State Hazleton for a 6 p.m. match.
