Leandri Sets Course Record; Men's Team Wins First Race in School History

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre team had an extremely successful day on its home course as several of the team's runners medaled at the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Cross Country Invitational.  Alex Leandri finished first in the women's race, setting a new course record of 16:44.  Emily Pszeniczny finished second in the women's race with a time of 17:36.  The Penn State Wilkes-Barre men's team won their first race in school history as the took home the trophy at their home course.  Chris Monahan finished second overall with a time of 29:28.  Matt Sharr finished fourth and Lee Kozokas finished fifth overall. Wilkes-Barre will next race at Penn State DuBois on Saturday, October 13th.
