Spring 2013 AutoCAD Courses Announced

Are you looking to expand your skills in the engineering field? This spring, Penn State Wilkes-Barre Continuing Education will be providing you with two AutoCAD-related courses that will give you the necessary experience for your current needs, whether you wish to enhance your marketability or fulfill required development hours for your current license.

The first course, Applications in AutoCAD—Level 1, will be taught on Mondays and Wednesdays, running March 11th through March 20th from 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. The instructor, Craig Miller, will provide you with the tools necessary to comprehend the commands available within AutoCAD. This will cover the display commands, CAD tools, basic draw commands, layers, CAD construction techniques, crosshatching, grips, introduction to layouts and plotting basics.

The second course, SolidWorks Essentials, will be taught on Tuesdays and Thursdays, running April 30th through May 9th from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The instructor, Craig Miller, will provide you with the tools necessary to comprehend the SolidWorks Desgin and Modeling environment. This will cover understanding the user interface, sketching, relations, reference geometry, solids creation methods, adding features, 2D drawing development, dimensioning and annotating drawings, working with assemblies, and documentation.

The registration fee for each course is $799 per person. Both courses are being offered in conjunction with the requirements of ACT 25 of 2010 that mandates professional engineers, land surveyors, and geologists licensed in Pennsylvania to complete 24 professional development hours (PDHs) of continuing education in each two-year renewal cycle as a condition of license renewal.
