Campus Community Welcomes New Faculty & Board Members

Chancellor Charles Davis is pleased to announce the addition of a new faculty member to Penn State Wilkes-Barre for the 2013-2014 academic year.

Dr. Renee Rosier joins the Penn State Wilkes-Barre faculty as the new Assistant Professor of Biology. Dr. Rosier will be teaching core biology courses and involving students in her field research.

"As a campus, we are extremely excited to welcome Dr. Rosier," explains Dr. Albert Lozano-Nieto, Director of Academic Affairs. "Her enthusiasm for teaching and her research focus will be an enhanced contribution to the students of Penn State Wilkes-Barre."

Following graduation from Lock Haven University with a degree in ecology, Dr. Rosier continued her education at Penn State, earning her Ph.D. studying the behavioral ecology of eastern fence lizards. Renee is a bagpiper and currently lives in Trucksville.

Additionally, Chancellor Davis is pleased to announce the appointment of the following new board members to the Penn State Wilkes-Barre 2013-2014 Campus Advisory Board.

Joseph W. Simkulak, Vice President of Finance at Bridon American Corporation located in Hanover Township, will begin his board appointment this fall. Joe is a graduate of the University of Scranton with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. He is a former member of the Board of Directors - Northeast PA APICS (American Production & Inventory Control Society) and is currently an instructor for APICS certification review courses at the University of Scranton. Joe and his wife Lisa have three daughters.

Jeffrey A. Yelen, Esq., of Yelen Law Offices, will also begin his board appointment this fall. Jeffrey graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in American History from the University of Pennsylvania and then went on to receive his J.D. from Dickinson School of Law (now DSL of Penn State University).
