This evening the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Athletic Department held a Senior Night White Out during the men's and women's basketball doubleheader against Penn College. The gym, decorated with balloons and "Lion's Den" signs, had a festive atmosphere from the start. Both the women's and men's basketball teams were victorious against Penn College; the women's team won by a score of 65-55, while the men's team won 93-64. Wearing their white for the night, students, faculty, alumni, family, community and friends came out to support all of Penn State Wilkes-Barre's senior student-athletes as they were honored for their academic and athletic achievements. Each senior student-athlete received a plaque with his or her name and sport. In addition to recognizing the student-athletes, those who attended the game were able enjoy some great food, participate in free raffles with prizes that were donated from various local businesses, and cheer on the basketball teams! We are looking forward to having an event like this every year. Thank you to all who participated, and especially to those who helped with organizing, setting up and decorating, and those who donated to our raffles!
