Baseball Sweeps Double Header vs. PSU Hazleton

Wilkes-Barre swept Penn State Hazleton on Thursday afternoon, 15-8 and 6-0. In the first game of the day, the Mountain Lions had an impressive game and showed some great talent on the field. Left fielder Lance Sherry and shortstop Jeffrey Carter each had three runs in the game, while center fielder Richard Portugal, third baseman Tyler Weiss, and first baseman Devon Mazonkey all scored twice. In game two, runs by Sherry, Portugal, Meyers, Mazonkey, and Carter (2) led the Mountain Lions to shut out PSU Hazleton. Jonathon Zionce recorded the win on the mound in game one, and Nicholas Myers recorded the win on the mound in game two. Wilkes-Barre now stands at 3-9 overall and in the PSUAC. They will face Penn State Worthington Scranton tomorrow, April 18th, in another doubleheader beginning at 12:00 p.m.
