Denzel Mensah Scores 1000th Career Point vs. Penn State DuBois

On Saturday afternoon during the second half of the game, the crowd that filled the ARB witnessed a special moment. Denzel Mensah, a forward on the men's basketball team, scored the1000th point of his inter-collegiate athletic career. The 6'3" senior from South Plainfield, NJ scored 24 points in the game to help his team get the victory. Based on his statistics this season and in the previous one, Mensah is having a career year in games started and points per game, and is on track to have the most points in a season of his career as well. His 15.5 points per game and 263 total points so far this season may be a result of his 46.3% field goal percentage, which is also his career high. Mensah also has had his three highest-point games in his career this season. He captured his career high on November 8th, when he scored 26 points. Since then, he has come close to beating that record, scoring 24 points on January 15th and 17th. Mensah wears the number 2 on the back of his jersey and has worn the number 22 in past seasons. Denzel will strive to help his team keep on winning and will look to score more points this Friday at home against Penn State Worthington Scranton at 8pm.
