LEHMAN, Pa. — Penn State Wilkes-Barre will host an Accepted Student Virtual Week from April 9-16, using technology to connect the campus and its personnel directly to students. The events and presentations will provide accepted students with an opportunity to speak directly with faculty and staff members and have their questions answered.

The first event will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 9. “Welcome to Penn State Wilkes-Barre” will include a welcome from Chancellor Dale Jones and presentations from Career Services, Student Success Services, and Financial Aid. Students also will hear what their next steps should be for new student orientation.

During the week of April 13, students will have the opportunity to learn more about their program of choice by attending a Zoom session with a Penn State Wilkes-Barre faculty member. Faculty in disciplines including engineering, business, liberal arts, rehabilitation and human services, and information sciences and technology will be available via Zoom.

The sessions also will provide an opportunity for students and parents to ask any questions they may have. All sessions will be recorded and available to view after the events.

Full details are listed on the Accepted Students webpage, where students are strongly encouraged to register for individual sessions. A virtual campus tour is available on the Penn State Wilkes-Barre website.

“One of the features that makes Penn State Wilkes-Barre special is the personalized attention and one-on-one interaction with faculty members that students have,” said Allen Koehler, interim director of enrollment management. “Even though we’re not able to hold on-campus events for the time being, we still want students to be able to experience that interaction with faculty and staff.”

Koehler noted that Penn State Wilkes-Barre is still offering one-on-one virtual appointments with admissions and student aid staff.

Applications are still being accepted for incoming students for the fall semester, which begins Aug. 24. For more information, contact the Office of Admissions at 570-675-9238 or [email protected].
