On Monday, April 19, Penn State Wilkes-Barre's Honor Society will be hosting a public discussion on health care reform at 7 p.m. in the Academic Commons Barry Auditorium on campus.
Dr. Dan Kopen, a native of Northeastern Pennsylvania, will be on hand to speak with the public about the recent passage of health care reform and what this new legislation could mean for our area, as well as the country.
Author of "Common Sense Health Care Reform," Kopen will discuss the roles played by government, health care insurance companies, individuals, medical institutions, and medical professionals.
Kopen completed medical school at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center of the Pennsylvania State University and a residency with the Barnes Hospital of Washington University, St. Louis, Mo.
Kopen is a nationally recognized surgeon and a member of the Fellow American College of Surgeons, Fellow American Society of Abdominal Surgeons, American Society for Quality, American Society of Breast Surgeons, and American Society of Breast Disease.
