Baseball Falls in Season Opener to Wilkes University

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre men's baseball team (0-1) fell 1-11 on the road in their season opener against Wilkes University on Saturday afternoon. Juniors Matt Kempinski and Robert Bisson each contributed two hits to Wilkes-Barre's seven total hits against Wilkes' pitching. Bisson scored Wilkes-Barre's lone run on an error by Wilkes' third baseman.  Wilkes-Barre will next play at their home field against Marywood University on Sunday, March 18th at 12:00 pm.

Penn State Wilkes-Barre Announces New Career Services Center

  Plans are underway for a new Career Services Center at Penn State Wilkes-Barre that will provide students with comprehensive career planning and job seeking services. A major matching gift from Wilkes-Barre alumnus Richard K. "Ric" Struthers and his wife, Sharon, has jump-started the campus' fundraising effort to support the project.

Men's Basketball Loses in PSUAC Championship

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre men's basketball team lost to Penn State DuBois 68-75 in the PSUAC Championship game on Saturday afternoon in Mont Alto. Freshman forward Jacob Bronder led for Wilkes-Barre, scoring 11 points and grabbing 5 rebounds.  Wilkes-Barre put together a balanced scoring effort in which 8 players scored 5 or more points. With the loss, Wilkes-Barre wraps up their 2011-2012 season.

2012 Pink Out Basketball Double-Header a Success

Penn State Wilkes-Barre Names Fall 2011 Dean's List

To be eligible for Dean's List, undergraduate students must achieve a one semester grade point average of at least 3.5. Women's Basketball Loses Playoff Game

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre women's basketball team lost to Penn State Brandywine, 51-73, in the first round of the PSUAC playoffs on Tuesday night.  Junior Catherine Beach was Wilkes-Barre's leading scorer, putting up 15 points for the team. Sophomores Michele Vowler and Tiara Brathwaite each added 12 points for Wilkes-Barre. Brathwaite also pulled down 15 rebounds, giving her a double-double.  With the loss the Penn State Wilkes-Barre women's basketball team ends their 2011-2012 season.

Pennsylvania Society of Land Surveyors Honors Scholarship Winners

Penn State Wilkes-Barre Surveying Engineering students Tyler Shelly, Eric Bogumil, Alex Wood, Ryan White, Eric Hillard, and Ryan Little were honored at the Pennsylvania Society of Land Surveyors (PSLS) Annual Conference in January with awards of general PSLS scholarships. Scholarships in varying amounts up to $3,000 are awarded to Pennsylvania students in two- or four-year surveying degree programs based on academics, extracurricular activities, future plans, and academic advisor recommendation.
