Use, possession, or carrying of firearms (including, but not limited to, pistols, rifles, shotguns, or ammunition), hand-billy, dirk knife or other dangerous knives, explosives, or or other dangerous weapons while on University-owned or controlled property, or at University-sponsored activities, except by authorized law enforcement officers and other persons specifically authorized by the University, is prohibited. Any student or employee who violates this prohibition shall be subject to discipline in accordance with regular University procedure, which may include suspension or dismissal from the University. If possession also appears to be in violation of the law, it will be reported to the civil authorities.
