The Penn State Wilkes-Barre baseball team dropped both games of a double header against Penn State Beaver on Monday afternoon. In the first game, Wilkes-Barre came up short losing to Beaver 4-7. For Wilkes-Barre, freshman Ryan Goodwin went 3 for 4 at the plate with 4 RBI's, a double and a homerun. Pitching for Wilkes-Barre, freshman Robert Vollmer took the loss. With a young team in a rebuilding year, Wilkes-Barre lost the second game to Beaver 2-23. Freshmen Zach Yursha had a double and RBI for Wilkes-Barre, while Vollmer also batted a run in. Starting pitcher junior Jason Strohl took the loss for Wilkes-Barre. With the two losses, Wilkes-Barre's record dropped to 4-9 overall and 4-6 in the PSUAC. Wilkes-Barre will next look to bounce back on the road, as they take on PSUAC rival Penn State Brandywine in a double header on Friday, April 6th at 2:00 pm.
