Penn State Wilkes-Barre Baseball Season Preview

The baseball season is fast approaching. In just a little over a month, Jason McManus, head coach for the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Mountain Lion's baseball team, will start his second full year with the team. The season begins with two non-conference games: March 17th against Kings College and March 20th against Baptist Bible.

Wei-Fan Chen Presents At E-Learning Conference

In late October, Penn State Wilkes-Barre Associate Professor of Information Sciences and Technology Dr. Wei-Fan Chen traveled to New Orleans to attend the E-Learn 2014 World Conference. Chen also served on the conference program committee, helping plan the event.

Women's Basketball Falls at Worthington Scranton

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre women's basketball team lost their final regular season away game at Penn State Worthington Scranton 70-45 on Tuesday evening. With the loss the team falls to 5-12 overall and 3-10 in PSUAC. The Lady Mountain Lions were led by Breana Moore's 21 points, while Jacqueline Rabender added 9 point and 10 rebounds.

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre men's basketball team lost their final regular season away game at Penn State Worthington Scranton 70-64 on Tuesday evening. With the loss the team falls to 12-11 overall and 9-5 in the PSUAC. The Mountain Lions were led by Austin Walker's double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds. Denzel Mensah added 13 points to the contest with 3 assists.

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre men's basketball team lost their home game against Penn State York 69-66 on Friday evening. With the loss, the team falls to 12-10 overall and 9-4 in the PSUAC. The game Friday night pinned the top two seeds against each other. The Mountain Lions were led by Denzel Menzah's 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. AJ Jones contributed 15 points and 7 rebounds to the contest.

Mildred Settle Bunton, Penn State class of 1932

Mildred Settle Bunton was Penn State's first black co-ed and the first to graduate from Penn State, earning her Bachelor of Science degree in health and human development in 1932. She went on to a distinguished career in nutrition and dietetics, and the University named her a Distinguished Alumna in 1973.
