On Saturday, May 9th at 10 a.m., Penn State Wilkes-Barre and Chancellor Charles Davis will honor Penn State University's 2015 graduating class during a commencement ceremony taking place in the campus' Athletic and Recreation Building.
Penn State Wilkes-Barre's TRIO Student Support Services office recognized the program's scholars and graduates at its annual End of the Year Celebration on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at the Apple Tree Terrace in Dallas.
Chancellor Charles Davis and Director of Academic Affairs Dr. Albert Lozano-Nieto are pleased to announce the awarding of two Research Grants from the Engineering Technology and Commonwealth Engineering division in the Penn State College of Engineering to Instructor in Computer Science, Jeff Chiampi and Instructor in Engineering, Tim Sichler.
On April 13th four Penn State Wilkes-Barre surveying engineer students competed and placed third at the "National Surveying, Mapping and Geospatial Conference Collaboration: The Map of the Future."
On Saturday, April 11, 2015 The Penn State Surveying Society hosted a day-long session for Boy Scouts from all over the area to have the opportunity to earn the unique Surveying Merit Badge. The Boy Scouts from Luzerne County included troops 193, 28, 311, and 444. The event took place in the Bell Atlantic/Bell of Pennsylvania Building (Tech Center) and the Tech Center Lawn.
On Wednesday, April 29, 2015, Penn State Wilkes-Barre hosted its first Undergraduate Research Day. The event, which was co-sponsored and supported by the Wilkes-Barre campus and the Penn State University Libraries, consisted of 61 posters created by 107 students, highlighting their research this semester.
Scott Miner, Penn State Wilkes-Barre Director of Athletics, proudly announces the class of 2015 Penn State Wilkes-Barre Athletics Wall of Fame. Those inductees are George Jones, Ed Keil, Michele Vowler and Michael Haley.
Three Penn State Wilkes-Barre Information Sciences & Technology (IST) seniors went to University Park on April 8th to participate in the 2015 Undergraduate Exhibition. Senior IST students Robert Carey, Joseph Demellier, and Andrew Hill, supervised by Wei-Fan Chen and Frouke de Quillettes represented the Wilkes-Barre campus.
The Penn State Wilkes-Barre baseball team lost both of their games at Penn State Hazleton on April 19th. In the first of the two games, Wilkes-Barre fell 10-5. Portugal had one run and one hit. Klinger had one run and one hit. Brodi had one run, one hit and two RBI's, and Gulbierz had one run and one hit as well.
The Penn State Wilkes-Barre men's baseball team lost both of their games vs. Penn State Worthington Scranton on April 18th. In the first of the two games, Wilkes-Barre fell 6-4. Portugal had one run, one hit and one BB. Klinger had two runs, two hits, one RBI and one BB, while Ed Moffet had one run and two hits.
