Honors Students Study Dolphin Communications

Students from Penn State Wilkes-Barre are furthering their knowledge of dolphin communications and cognition this week as they study the mammals in native and protected habitats along the Florida Keys. This trip is part of the Penn State Honor Program led locally by campus faculty members, Mrs. Theresa Clemente and Mr. William Bachman.

Penn State Wilkes-Barre Honors Program Studies Ocean Mammal Communications

Members of the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Honors Program took a trip to the Dolphin Research Center in Marathon, Fl. This trip is a component of Honors 297, a course in Ocean Mammal Communications and completed the students' coursework on dolphin cognition and behavior. The students also spent time in Key West and Florida Key state parks, including Fort Zachary Taylor State Park and Bahia Honda State Park. 

Students Spend Spring Break Learning Native Culture

Seven students from the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Chapter of Penn State University's Schreyer Honors College recently spent their Spring Break studying the indigenous people of the West Rim of the Grand Canyon in Arizona as part of an honors course offered this spring at Penn State Wilkes-Barre.
