Penn State Wilkes-Barre offers numerous opportunities for students to develop their leadership skills.

Lessons on Leadership. Lessons on Leadership (LOL) is a leadership development series offered to any interested Penn State Wilkes-Barre student. Monthly workshops focus on a variety of leadership-building skills: leadership styles, communication styles, conflict management, and more. To sign up, email the Student Activities Office with “LOL” as the subject.

Intercollegiate Leadership Northeast. Each academic year, students from the area’s colleges/universities are chosen to participate in the Intercollegiate Leadership Northeast program, sponsored by Leadership Northeast. Its goal is to strengthen and enhance leadership skills in our future leaders while developing open lines of communication among the area’s local colleges/universities.

University-Wide Summer Leadership Experience. Prior to the fall semester, students from each of the University’s campuses gather for the university-wide Summer Leadership Experience, an intensive three-day skills training, team building, and leadership development conference held at various locations across the state.

Orientation, Open House, and Event Leaders. Students have the opportunity to represent Penn State Wilkes-Barre at a variety of events throughout the academic year. These include, but are not limited to, Welcome Week, New Student Orientation (NSO), open houses, career fairs, and more.
