Student Exhibit: Class Projects

March 5–March 31, 2018

More than 40 Penn State Wilkes-Barre students submitted original artwork for this Student Art Show in the Friedman Art Gallery at Penn State Wilkes-Barre. The exhibit opened on March 5th and will run through the end of March.

Students in the INART 001—Perceiving the Arts class created paintings with their interpretations of the Bob Ross painting, “Winter’s Grace.” This was from the “Painting with Bob Ross” class project.

Students in the ARTH 112—Modern Art History class created collages during the class project, “Modern Art: Creative Collages.”

On Friday, March 23rd there will be a reception for the artists, campus students, faculty and staff. The reception is also open to the public. The reception will feature original poetry readings from faculty as well as from students in the English 50—Introduction to Creative Writing class. Come meet some of the artists, listen to some poetry readings (and bring your own original poems to read!), discuss creative artistic expression, and enjoy some light refreshments.
