The Friedman Art Gallery presents the 5th Annual High School Art Exhibit, which will run from December 7, 2023, through January 31, 2024. The display features more than 60 original works created by local high school students. Participating schools include:

  • The Creative And Performing Arts Academy (CAPAA)
  • Crestwood High School
  • Dallas High School
  • Lake-Lehman Area High School
  • Sue Hand’s Imagery

Art teachers were invited to select and submit some of their best student artwork for the exhibit. Two-dimensional drawings and paintings, photography, and three-dimensional artwork are on display. The exhibit is open during the Friedman Art Gallery hours of Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., except during holiday break. There is no cost to attend, and the gallery is open to the public.

Celebration of the Arts

In addition to the 5th Annual High School Art Exhibit, the Friedman Art Gallery will be hosting the 5th annual “Celebration of the Arts” on Thursday, December 7, 2023 in the Barry Auditorium of the Academic Commons. There will be a holiday concert provided by the Wyoming Valley West Chamber Strings from 12:15 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. An artists’ reception, sponsored by Arts at Hayfield, will follow the performance, with drinks and light snacks. This event is open to the campus community and the public at no charge.
