A series of seed grants from the Office of the Vice President for Commonwealth Campuses has provided Penn State campus leaders with the support to implement transformative initiatives and best practices that have been successful at other University campuses.
A new art exhibit has opened at Penn State Wilkes-Barre’s Friedman Art Gallery. The featured artwork was created by students in three Penn State Wilkes-Barre courses, as well as students who submitted their work independently.

Penn State Wilkes-Barre’s Office of Continuing Education has announced its summer youth camps for 2023. Two weeks of camp are offered, with Week 1 scheduled for June 26 to 30, and Week 2 planned for July 10 to 14.
Community residents and members of the campus community were able to view a rare astronomical event at Penn State Wilkes-Barre’s Friedman Observatory. The observatory opened for two nights in early February for anyone interested in trying to catch a glimpse of the “green comet.” Those who came were able to use the observatory’s high-powered 16-inch Meade Schmidt-Cassegrain LX200 telescope.
Fourteen Penn State instructors from eight campuses and three colleges worked with Teaching and Learning with Technology (TLT) over the past summer and fall as part of the 2022-23 TLT Faculty Engagement Awards program. Their goal was to enhance the student engagement experience using Experiential Virtual Spaces.
The start of the 2023 baseball season is under way, with Penn State Wilkes-Barre's Mountain Lions taking on Elmira College on March 16 for their first game.

Penn State Startup Week powered by PNC is a University-wide event held each spring that brings leading minds in entrepreneurship and innovation together in and around Penn State campuses across the commonwealth.
