Gender and Sexuality Alliance. The Penn State Wilkes-Barre Gender and Sexuality Alliance strives to create a welcoming, non-judgmental, and confidential space for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, asexual, etc. (LGBTQ+) and straight ally students, faculty, and staff of all ages, races, colors, national origins, disabilities, sexes, genders, religious affiliations, backgrounds and interests at Penn State Wilkes‑Barre.
Commission for Adult Learners. Penn State’s Commission for Adult Learners is a University-wide group of faculty, staff, and students dedicated to the betterment of the adult learner experience at Penn State. The Commission was appointed to review and recommend changes in policies and procedures, foster coordination and information sharing about programs and services that recruit and retain adult learners.
The Disability Access Initiative. The Disability Access Initiative (DAI) is a working group at Penn State charged with addressing disability equity and inclusion and promoting a welcoming climate. The DAI is run through the Student Disability Resources office.
The Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity. The Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity provides a comprehensive range of education, information, and advocacy services to students, faculty, staff, and alumni. We work to create and maintain an open, safer, and inclusive environment honoring gender and sexual diversity.
The Office of Veterans Affairs and Services. The Office of Veterans Affairs and Services supports military-connected students (vets, active duty, or dependents) by enabling their access to all aspects of higher education and empowering them to succeed while at Penn State and as they transition to post-education endeavors.
President’s Equity Commissions
The Commission on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Equity (CLGBTE); the Commission on Racial/Ethnic Diversity (CORED); and the Commission for Women (CFW) are advisory bodies to the Penn State President on matters that pertain to equity concerns at Penn State. While the commissions focus on their own specific areas of interest, they also collaborate on common equity issues as they arise.
