Penn State Wilkes-Barre is a member of Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) and competes for National Championships as a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA). The USCAA also provides student-athletes with the opportunity for academic and athletic All‑American honors.

Men’s Baseball

Penn State Wilkes-Barre’s men’s baseball team is led by head coach Jason McManus, who is a former Penn State Wilkes-Barre student and baseball player. Coach McManus has had a long coaching career, including coaching little league and high school baseball. Coach McManus coaches alongside assistant coaches Jacob Claypoole and Rian Long, who is a former Penn State Wilkes-Barre player and an athletic department assistant.

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre baseball team was the 2019 No. 1 seed in the PSUAC conference playoffs.

Men’s Basketball

Here is some introductory text about the sport. Our basketball team features 14 players with multiple players from different states, and is under the direction of our award-winning head coach, coach Hammet.

Penn State Wilkes-Barre’s Men’s Basketball team is led by head coach LeShawn Hammet. Coach Hammet has gone on to lead the men’s team to two USCAA National Championships and was named the 2019 USCAA National Coach of The Year. Coach Hammet has had longstanding success in his coaching career as he recently celebrated his 200th coaching win. Coach Hammet coaches alongside associate coach Reneard Harris, Jr. and assistant coaches Javin Mitchell, Mike Riddle, and Trevon Artis-Randolph.

Our team was the 2022-2023 USCAA National Championship with over 20 wins in the season.

Women’s Basketball

Penn State Wilkes-Barre’s Women’s Basketball team is led by head coach LeShawn Hammet, who has found much success coaching the Penn State Wilkes-Barre teams.

The Team has achieved 4 conference wins in the 2023-2024 season.

Men’s Golf

Here is some introductory text about the sport.

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre golf team has 10 players who also excel academically with over 144 being named Academic All-Conference. Players have had great success in golf here at Penn State Wilkes-Barre such as Josh Brown who in 2023 tied for 1st at blue course at university park shooting 1 under in the first PSUAC golf match of the season. As well as Cooper Kelly who finished 1 stroke behind to lead Penn State Wilkes Barre in the PSUAC.

Penn State Wilkes-Barre's men’s golf team is led by Coach Ed Kiel. Coach Ed Kiel is a graduate of Penn State Wilkes-Barre and an Air Force veteran. With over 30 years of coaching golf at Penn State Wilkes-Barre, Coach Kiel has also had a successful career coaching golf and has worked with youth golf and women’s golf programs.

Our Men’s Golf team have won 3 individual state titles and have had 119 Golfers named all-conference or all-state.

Men’s Soccer

Here is some introductory text about the sport. Our team features 15 players both male and female, who have a love for the game.

Penn State Wilkes-Barre’s men’s soccer team is coached by coach Joe Domino. Coach Domino has over 25 years of experience coaching and believes “this program has faced its share of challenges but with my vision, fresh talent and determination to rise we’re laying down the foundation for a promising future at Penn State Wilkes-Barre.” Coach Domino holds a Class D coaching license from USSA through the University of Albany and is a FIFA certified referee.

After not having a team in the 2023-2024 year, the soccer team has been busy rebuilding and is looking forward to getting back on the field this upcoming fall.
