Three Golfers Finish Under 100 at PSU Schuylkill Invitational

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre golf team finished sixth in their third match of the 2014 season. Seven teams competed in the match, with Wilkes-Barre shooting a score of 381. The Mountain Lions were led by Jeff Carter (85), Michael Stelacone (93), and Mike Carey (99). The team will next host a match at Irem Temple CC on Tuesday, September 23rd at 10am.  

Volleyball Wins First of Season at PSU Hazleton

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre volleyball team (1-1 PSUAC) won their first game of the season with a sweep of Penn State Hazleton. The match was played at Penn State Hazleton, with Wilkes-Barre winning each of the three sets 25-18, 25-15, 25-7. The Lady Mountain Lions were led by former Lake Lehman High School players Brittany Acevedo (9 aces and 14 service points) and Kahli Katulski (12 kills). Former Holy Redeemer High School player Alison Rowski added 16 digs for the Wilkes-Barre.

Soccer Falls to Baptist Bible College

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre soccer team played their fourth game Tuesday night, losing 5-2 at Baptist Bible College. Patrick Ryan had our first goal and assisted Eric Whited on his goal. The Mountain Lions (1-1 PSUAC, 1-3 overall) will play Penn State Greater Allegheny. The game will be at home at 1pm on Saturday, September 20th.

Three Medal in First Cross-Country Meet

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre cross-country team had three runners medal in the first meet of the 2014 season. In the women's meet, Becky Wychock finished second overall as well as second in the PSUAC, with a time of 22:37 in the 5k race. Ashley Oliver finished tenth overall and eighth in the PSUAC, with a time of 24:17. As a team, Wilkes-Barre finished third out of four teams.

Soccer Cruises Past PSU Worthington Scranton

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre soccer team played PSU Worthington Scranton on the road Wednesday, where they won 4-0. Ryan Patrick came up big with a hat trick, and Mark Bugelholl scored the final goal. The Mountain Lions (1-1 PSUAC, 1-2 overall) will travel to Baptist Bible College to play The Defenders on September 16th at 4pm.

Golf Finishes 4th in Second Match

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre golf team finished fifth in their second match of the 2014 season. Seven teams competed in the Penn State DuBois Invitational, with Wilkes-Barre shooting a 393. The Mountain Lions were led by Jeff Carter, with a score of 83. The team will travel to a match hosted by Penn State Schuylkill on Friday, September 19.

Soccer Falls at PSU Brandywine

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre soccer team played its first road game of the season on Friday night, losing 9-1 at PSU Brandywine. Eric Whited scored the lone goal for WB. The Mountain Lions (0-1 PSUAC, 0-2 overall) will next travel to Penn State Worthington Scranton on Wednesday to face its northeast PA rival. The game will be played at Marywood University on September 10th at 4pm.

The Mountain Lions were led by Jeff Carter (80), Mike Carey (93), and Joe Murray (97). The team will next travel to a match hosted by Penn State DuBois on Monday, September 8th at 11am.
