Spring 2013 AutoCAD Courses Announced

Are you looking to expand your skills in the engineering field? This spring, Penn State Wilkes-Barre Continuing Education will be providing you with two AutoCAD-related courses that will give you the necessary experience for your current needs, whether you wish to enhance your marketability or fulfill required development hours for your current license.

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins Present: Penn State Wilkes-Barre Athletics Night

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins present Penn State Wilkes-Barre Athletics Night, Friday, April 19th at 7:05pm.  In addition to admission into the game, each person will receive a penguins hat, water bottle, hot dog, chips, and beverage!  A portion from each ticket sold will be donated back to benefit Penn State Wilkes-Barre athletics. Please come out and support Penn State Wilkes-Barre athletics, while also supporting the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

Penn State Wilkes-Barre Seeks Head Soccer Coach

Penn State Wilkes-Barre is currently running a search for a Head Soccer Coach. This position reports directly to the Director of Athletics.  The qualified person will: plan and direct team during all practices and games; recruit academically and athletically qualified student-athletes; emphasize academic success to student-athletes; supervise assistant coaches; and promote the soccer program.  Evening and weekend hours will be required for practices and games.

Men's Basketball Falls to Worthington-Scranton

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre men's basketball team lost at Penn State Worthington-Scranton tonight by a score of 73-93. Wilkes-Barre was led by Jacob Bronder with 17 points. Wilkes-Barre will head into the break with a 3-4 record in the PSUAC and 3-9 overall. The Mountain Lions will next play again on Sunday, January 6th at home vs. their fifth NCAA Division III opponent of the year, Wilkes University at 2pm.

Women's Basketball Loses Close Battle At Worthington-Scranton

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre women's basketball team lost a close game at Penn State Worthington-Scranton tonight by a score of 72-76. Wilkes-Barre was led by five players scoring in double-figures. Freshman Jalicia Robinson led the group with 19 points, followed by sophomore Nicole Maslowski with 16. Wilkes-Barre will head into the break with a 1-5 record in the PSUAC and 3-8 overall. The Mountain Lions will next play on Saturday, January 12th at Penn State DuBois.  

Men's Basketball Coach Recognized in Citizens Voice

Scott Miner, Penn State Wilkes-Barre's men's basketball coach, and the 1982-84 Northwest High School basketball team he played on, was recognized by the Citizens Voice as one of the top 25 best high school teams of all time. During Coach Miner's two seasons playing at Northwest High School, the team had a record of 66-1. Read the full article at www.citizensvoice.com.      

Penn State Wilkes-Barre Men's Basketball Fall to NCAA Opponent DeSales

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre (3-7 overall) Men's Basketball team continued its struggles against NCAA opponents, losing at DeSales 90-42. Wilkes-Barre couldn't overcome a poor shooting performance from the field, 3-point line, and the free throw line Saturday afternoon. The only player to score in double digits was sophomore Jake Bronder who tallied 12 points on a 6-9 performance from the charity stripe. This was Wilkes-Barre's 4th NCAA opponent of the season thus far. They still have Wilkes University left on the schedule after the New Year.

Women's Basketball Falls to Penn College

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre (3-6, 1-3 PSUAC) Women's Basketball team fell to Penn College, as they tried overcoming a 36-23 Penn College halftime lead to lose by a final score of 72-65. Three Mountain Lion players played very impressive games for Wilkes-Barre, with senior Katie Beach leading her team in scoring. She finished the game with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Juniors Tiaira Brathwaite and Tiffany Denny-Rochester contributed 18 points each. Brathwaite had a game-high 19 rebounds, and Denny-Rochester also added 15 rebounds.

Men's Basketball Back on Track after Defeating Penn College

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre (3-6, 3-2 PSUAC) Men's Basketball team won on the road, despite losing at halftime against an established Penn College team by a score of 69-65. Sophomore Jake Bronder led all scorers to finish with 20 points on a 9-14 (64%) shooting night. Bronder was one of four players who scored in double figures for the Mountain Lions. Sophomore Drew Walker followed with 14 points, and sophomores Bre'yan Jones and Denzel Mensah added 10 points, respectively. Jones also had a game-high 12 rebounds.
