Wilkes-Barre Defeats Worthington Scranton

Penn State Wilkes-Barre (2-1) soccer won a home match against Penn State Worthington Scranton on Tuesday afternoon 4-0.  Wilkes-Barre's goals were scored by sophomores Mark Bugelholl and David Cavalieri, junior Raul Ortiz, and freshman Zamir Vallecillo. Wilkes-Barre, 1-1 in PSUAC, next plays at home against Penn State Brandywine on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

Men's Golf Finishes Fifth in Penn College Tournament

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre golf team traveled to Williamsport to compete in the Penn College Tournament (PSUAC) on Monday. The Mountain Lions finished fifth overall out of nine PSUAC schools. Freshman Jeff Carter (Dallas, PA) finished the day with a score of 80, while junior Zach Aciukewicz (Dallas, PA) finished with an 87.  Senior Matt Boozer (New Bethlehem, PA) finished with an 91, freshman Matt Kocher (Hanover Township, PA) shot a 102 and freshman Mike Stelacone (Lothian, MD) finished with a score of 106.

Penn State Wilkes-Barre Golf Opens Season at Mont Alto

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre golf team competed at the PSUAC Penn State Mont Alto Tournament (Penn National-Founders Course, Fayetteville, PA) on Wednesday. The Mountain Lions finished fifth overall out of nine PSUAC schools.  Junior Zach Aciukewicz (Dallas, PA) and freshman Jeff Carter (Dallas, PA) finished the day with a score of 84.

Men's Soccer Loses Home Opener to PSU York

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre men's soccer team (0-1) lost their home opener to Penn State York (2-0), with a final score of 5-2.   Wilkes-Barre's goals were scored by #21, sophomore David Cavalieri and #13, freshman Eric Whited.  The Mountain Lions next play Friday at Davis College at 4pm.  

Campus Community Welcomes New Faculty & Board Members

Chancellor Charles Davis is pleased to announce the addition of a new faculty member to Penn State Wilkes-Barre for the 2013-2014 academic year. Dr. Renee Rosier joins the Penn State Wilkes-Barre faculty as the new Assistant Professor of Biology. Dr. Rosier will be teaching core biology courses and involving students in her field research.

Continuing Education Offers Civil Engineering Professional Exam Review

Beginning Thursday, August 29th, 2013 running through April 10th, 2014, Penn State Wilkes-Barre will offer a Civil Engineering Professional Engineering Exam Review. Sessions will be taught each Thursday from 6-9pm. This session will be delivered via Polycom video conferencing technology from the Penn State Berks campus and be taught by Tom Schreffler, PE. Cost for the review is $1,025.

Fall 2013 Film & Discussion Series Announced

The Department of Continuing Education at Penn State Wilkes-Barre and co-sponsor The Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce proudly announce the fall personal enrichment film & discussion series schedule. Penn State Wilkes-Barre is once again partnering with R/C Wilkes-Barre Movies 14 in Downtown Wilkes-Barre to host a film and discussion series exploring "Five Great Films, Five Great Genres" through Airplane!

2013 - 2014 SAT Preparation Courses Schedule Announced

Beginning August 20th, Penn State Wilkes-Barre will begin hosting four seven-week SAT preparation course sessions for those students interested in taking the SAT exam for the upcoming 2013-2014 school year. Penn State Wilkes-Barre, in cooperation with Cambridge Educational Services, Inc., offers high school students an opportunity to raise their score on the SAT, and instructs students in proven test-taking strategies to help them realize their full potential on the test.

Alumni to Host Fundraising Golf Tournament

On Friday, July 12th, 2013 the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Alumni Constituent Society will host its 18th Annual Penn State "Masters" Golf Tournament at Blue Ridge Trail Golf Club in Mountain Top, PA. The proceeds from this year's event will benefit the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Alumni Society's Scholarship Fund, the Alumni Speaker Series, THON, Academic Excellence Awards, and other initiatives, which help the students of Penn State Wilkes-Barre.

4th Annual Women in the Sciences and Engineering Program Announced

Penn State Wilkes-Barre is currently accepting registrations for its fourth Women in the Sciences and Engineering program (WISE) running July 29th - 31st. Funded by Procter and Gamble's Live, Learn, and Thrive grant that is offering 20 young women a chance into the program at no cost. Students are asked to request a teacher's recommendation for entry into the program. This three day camp, on The 3 Dimensional World will be taught under the leadership of Timothy Sichler, a Penn State instructor of engineering.
