Lady Mountain Lions End Season with a Close Loss

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre women's basketball team lost a close game at Penn State Mont Alto by a score of 72-70 on Sunday afternoon. Not only did senior Tiara Braithwaite lead the night, she also recorded a double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds. Helping her out were freshman Breana Moore, who had 19 points on the night, and freshman Katelyn McLaughlin, who added 18. Putting up a good fight, the Mountain Lions end their season 8-16 overall and 5-10 in the PSUAC.

Mountain Lions Fall at Beaver

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre men's basketball team is now 12-3 in the PSUAC and 15-9 overall, after falling at Penn State Beaver on Wednesday night by a score of 83-70. The Mountain Lions were led by freshman Emmanuel Young with 18 points, while starting junior Denzel Mensah had 16 points on the night. The team will play next at Penn State Mont Alto, Saturday, February 15th at 3:00 pm.

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre women's basketball team lost to Penn State Beaver on Wednesday night by a score of 48-76, which moves the Lady Mountain Lions to 5-9 in the PSUAC and 8-15 overall. Starting freshman Breana Moore had 19 points on the night, while starting senior Tiara Brathwaite added 13 points. The team will play next at Penn State Mont Alto, Saturday, February at 1:00 pm.

Penn State Wilkes-Barre Hosts Senior White Out

This evening the Penn State Wilkes-Barre Athletic Department held a Senior Night White Out during the men's and women's basketball doubleheader against Penn College. The gym, decorated with balloons and "Lion's Den" signs, had a festive atmosphere from the start.  Both the women's and men's basketball teams were victorious against Penn College; the women's team won by a score of 65-55, while the men's team won 93-64.

Seniors Help Wilkes-Barre Soar Past Penn College

As parents, friends, staff and faculty members cheered them on, the Penn State Wilkes-Barre men's basketball team soared past Penn College on Monday evening to win with a score of 93-64. This win increased their record to 15-8 overall and 12-2 in the PSUAC. The Mountain Lions hosted their first Senior Night White Out event, which was extremely successful, especially with the addition of a win by our teams! Congratulations to our seniors, Keith Johnson who led the team with 24 points, and Greg Cooper who had 3 points and 4 rebounds.

Wilkes-Barre Defeats Penn College with Help of Senior

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre women's basketball team defeated Penn College Monday evening 65-55. This win increased their record to 5-8 in the PSUAC and 8-14 overall. This was not just an ordinary win, but kicked off a spectacular celebration of our senior athletes on our first ever Senior Night White Out! Congratulations to senior Tiara Brathwaite who had 15 points on the night! The team was led by freshman Breana Moore with 24 points for the Lady Mountain Lions, while freshman Katelyn McLaughlin scored 18 points.

Wilkes-Barre Falls to PSU Brandywine

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre women's basketball team fell to Penn State Brandywine on Saturday afternoon 50-72. The loss moved the team to 4-8 in the PSUAC and 7-14 overall. Senior Tiaira Brathwaite led the team while recording a double-double with 22 points and 19 rebounds. Freshman Breana Moore added 12 points for the Lady Mountain Lions. The women's basketball team will play again on Monday, February 10th at 6:00 pm when they host Penn College.

PSU Wilkes Barre Men's Basketball Continues to Improve in PSUAC

 Penn State Wilkes-Barre men's basketball team flew past Penn State Brandywine with a score of 88-68. The win improved their record to 14-8 overall and 11-2 in the PSUAC. Senior Keith Johnson led the team with 21 points, junior Denzel Mensah added 18 points, and AJ Jones scored 17 for the Mountain Lions. Wilkes-Barre will play again on Monday, February 10th at 8:00 pm when they host Penn College.

Wilkes-Barre Men's Basketball Defeats PSU Schuylkill

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre men's basketball team defeated Penn State Schuylkill on Friday evening by a score of 76-67. This win improved the Mountain Lions' record to 10-2 in the PSUAC and 13-8 overall. Wilkes-Barre was led by senior Keith Johnson with an outstanding 21 points, while junior Kenneth Randall added 16 points. Freshman Austin Walker also had 8 rebounds for the Mountain Lions. Wilkes-Barre will play again tomorrow at 3:00 pm, when they face Penn State Brandywine.

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre women's basketball team defeated Penn State Schuylkill on Friday evening by a score of 42-38. This win improved the team's record in the PSUAC to 4-7 and 7-13 overall. Freshman Katelyn McLaughlin scored 16 points for the Lady Mountain Lions, while freshman Breana Moore added 11 for the team. The team will play next tomorrow afternoon at 1:00 pm, when they host Penn State Brandywine.
