Traditionally two separate events - Penn State Wilkes-Barre's Executive Management Forum and the Chamber's Healthy Workplace Awards luncheon were combined in this breakfast.
Beginning January 17th, Penn State Wilkes-Barre will begin hosting two seven-week SAT preparation course sessions for those students interested in taking the SAT exam for the 2015 dates. Penn State Wilkes-Barre, in cooperation with Cambridge Educational Services, Inc., offers high school students an opportunity to raise their score on the SAT, and instructs students in proven test-taking strategies to help them realize their full potential on the test.
Penn State Wilkes-Barre Advisory Board Member and Penn State Architectural Engineering graduate Jonathan Dougherty has been named the 2014 recipient of the Penn State Alumni Association's (PSAA) Kay and Ernie Salvino Volunteer of the Year Award. The award recognizes an individual who has provided exemplary service to the PSAA.
At Penn State Wilkes-Barre, Dougherty has been an advisory board member since 2004. He also serves as an alumni mentor and guest lecturer, and was the 2013 commencement speaker.
The Penn State Wilkes-Barre women's basketball team (2-2) lost their second straight game to Bryn Athyn College, with a final score of 60-69. The Lady Mountain Lions were led by Jackie Rabender, who scored 14 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, and got 2 steals. Simone Person coming off the bench grabbed 10 rebounds, 3 of which were offensive rebounds. The Lady Mountain Lions will play their next game Friday November 21st at Davis.

The Lady Lions were led by Katie McLaughlin, who scored 17 points and drained 3 threes. Jackie Rabender scored 16 points in the game, 12 of which were in the second half. The Lady Mountain Lions' next game is November 15th at Centenary College.
