On Tuesday, November 1st, Penn State Wilkes-Barre will be holding its Centennial Anniversary Gala at Best Western Genetti Hotel & Conference Center to culminate the campus’s yearlong celebration.
The National Science Foundation (NSF) has awarded $1.2M in funding to three Penn State chemical engineering researchers for a proposal which aims to identify the key polymeric properties of conjugated polymers used to develop flexible electronics.
The Department of Continuing Education at Penn State Wilkes-Barre and co-sponsor the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce will offer a fall personal enrichment film and discussion series on Thursdays beginning Oct. 13 and running through Nov. 10. Open to students and members of the general public, the film series will feature "Animal House," "The Naked Gun: From The Files of the Police Squad," "Young Frankenstein," "Fargo," and "Blazing Saddles."
Penn State’s annual celebration of Constitution Day will take place on Friday, Sept. 16 at University Park, with events happening throughout the month of September across Penn State campuses.
The University is hosting a Town Hall from 3-5 p.m. Sept. 28 in the Pavilion Theatre at University Park. The meeting will be livestreamed for faculty and staff members at all Penn State campuses to view.
Multi-award-winning performer Wayne Hoffman is recognized as one of the top mentalists in the world. Touring the world with his stage show “Mind Candy” and his motivational speech, “The Power and Potential of The Human Mind,” he is also the author of the best-selling book “Mind Candy.” Hoffman will perform at 7:15 p.m. Oct. 27 in Penn State Wilkes-Barre's Barry Auditorium. The evening will start with a night tour of Hayfield House starting at 6 p.m., followed by a dessert reception at 6:45 p.m. in the Academic Commons Lobby.
Penn State Wilkes-Barre will hold the third annual Zombie 5K run/walk benefiting THON on Saturday, Oct. 29. True to the event's name, participants will be followed throughout the course by “the running dead.”
