2+2 Plan

2+2 Plan

Some students choose to remain at one campus for all four years, while other students spend their first two years at one campus and transition to University Park or another campus for their remaining two years. The vast majority of the University's 160 majors can be completed in this fashion. We call it the 2+2 plan and it's the most common path to a Penn State degree — about 60% of Penn State students opt for this path in a typical year.

An explanation of the 2+2 Plan

Getting started at Penn State Wilkes-Barre has many great advantages — small classes, a close-knit learning environment, activities, athletics, student organizations, and faculty who are experts in their chosen fields. You will get the benefits and resources of a rigorous, world-class university in a welcoming, comfortable environment. You will work closely with an academic adviser to choose a course of study that will allow you to seamlessly transition to University Park or another campus when you are ready to begin your upper-division (junior- and senior-year) course work.

No matter where you start, no matter where you finish, your degree will be a Penn State degree, one of the most respected in the country.
