Penn State Wilkes-Barre has set its sights on prioritizing the health and wellness of the campus community, with help from a partnership with Penn State LionPulse, an initiative of Penn State PRO Wellness. The campus’ efforts recently included a LionPulse wellness challenge, where 41 community members competed to see who could walk the farthest and if, collectively, they could walk the entire distance of U.S. Route 66.

Penn State Wilkes-Barre Continuing Education is offering a new and exciting career exploration camp, “Supplying Pizza to the World,” for boys and girls entering grades six to 12. This camp will research global markets to identify pizza products matching the diverse tastes in each market. Participants will learn what critical skills are needed to manufacture and deliver products to these global markets — while enjoying pizza along the way.
Penn State Wilkes-Barre recognized two employees — Gary Beisel, director of business services, and Anthony Shipula, director of development — who are retiring at the end of June.
